R.I.P Kevin Banks
It is with great sadness that I report that my friend and colleague Kevin Banks passed away on 14th November following a short illness aged 54.
A brilliant physiotherapist, Kevin was an internationally recognised Manual Therapist. He was an excellent teacher and mentor, passionate about evidence-based practice and the delivery of high-quality care for patients.
He was also an author and editor concerning the work of Geoff Maitland and for my money the greatest teacher of the Maitland Concept I ever met. He was the Chairman of The International Maitland Teacher’s Association. I spent many happy hours in his company and I am indebted to him for his teaching.
Kevin was a keen sportsman, playing hockey, a cricketer and a distance runner, completing 20 marathons. Above all Kevin was a devoted family man, full of fun and laughter. My thoughts and deepest sympathy go to his family.
Kevin will be greatly missed. The world’s a poorer place without him.
